AtWork! & USArchive Sign Partnership MOU

"Imagine University is a three day course offered at our offices in Redmond, Washington. The curriculum is designed to enable non-profit organizations in attendance to come away with enough basic knowledge to 'kick start' their own imaging business."
"The intent of Imagine University is to provide our non-profit partners with a new business line that operates both as a skills training platform for people with disabilities and as a significant revenue generating engine for their organization. Imagine University supplies non-profits with the training and tools for a more successful launch of their imaging business."
Michael Plath, President
It’s estimated that among people with disabilities, only 25% are working today. Employees with disabilities at non-profit organizations are often employed in grounds maintenance, janitorial work, light production services and kitting work, among others. Many non-profits now realize the valuable work opportunities the document management line of business brings their organizations. Many unemployed or underemployed disabled are fully capable of learning new technical skills that will allow them full career independence. USArchive, a for-profit company, has a successful history of employing those with disabilities.
Realizing the ability of disabled people to work in this industry (document imaging and management), USArchive formed Imagine University in 2008. Through Imagine University, USArchive provides training for non-profit organizations that are entering the document imaging and management services business.
The curriculum covers a wide variety of topics related to the imaging business – from (1) practical “on-the-floor” training in document preparation, document scanning and data entry to (2) classroom sessions where topics covered include: introduction to document management, document management software solutions, hardware, job costing, selling to government agencies, microform conversion, etc.

Leadership Comments
Doug MacDonald, VP Sales
“One session of the training curriculum at Imagine University is the ‘Local Government Applications’ session, which focuses on marketing to government organizations. City, county, state or federal agencies are a main source of business, especially when existing account relationships are leveraged. By learning how to more effectively market to government agencies, non-profits increase their chances for immediate success, especially with the government contacts and relationships they’ve already established.”
Brent Romney, Director of Government Operations
“An organization’s entry into the document management business isn’t as easy as simply buying a scanner and plugging it in. There are a number of issues to resolve, such as technical, production and sales issues, to name a few. Imagine University provides the skills and direction to resolve many of these issues at the beginning, allowing non-profits a faster and smoother entry into this business.”
