Microfilm/Microfiche Conversion
Many organizations, both public and private, have valuable information and records stored on roll microfilm or microfiche. With developing technology, organizations can’t easily access this information because film readers aren’t available or are in disrepair. If an organization has serviceable film readers, finding the information on the film can be time-consuming and inconvenient.
USArchive can release the information stored on film by converting it to clear digital images using our high-speed film scanners. USArchive has the ability to convert the following types of film to digital images:
- Roll Microfilm - we can convert 16mm and 35mm film. A recent acquisition was a Wicks & Wilson film scanner, one of the fastest scanners available. The accompanying software allows us to enhance imperfections to output the highest quality digital images possible.
- Microfiche - we can convert your microfiche film to digital images. We have the capability to convert the following types of microfiche:
- COM Fiche
- Jacketed Fiche
- Step and Repeat
- Aperture Cards
