Highlights
We converted over 80,000 old 4 X 6 cards containing water tap information for city of Seattle residents into a digital format. Some cards were over 100 years old, typed with multiple hand-written entries. Before our digital conversion field engineers who needed critical information had to travel to a repository to access physical cards, copy the information and return to their project location.
Solution
We inventoried the water tap cards by trays, picked-up and transported them with a CoC (chain of custody) to our production center for prep and OCR scanning. We applied technical applications to insure the data could be easily sorted after loaded into a cloud-based Perfect Search solution. All records can now be quickly referenced via file and keyword searches on both mobile and desktop devices.
