Microfilm / Microfiche Conversion

Many organizations, both public and private, have valuable information and records stored on roll microfilm or microfiche. With developing technology, organizations can’t easily access this information because film readers aren’t available or are in disrepair. If an organization has serviceable film readers, finding the information on the film can be time-consuming and inconvenient.

USArchive can release the information stored on film by converting it to clear digital images using our high-speed film scanners. Working with valuable and irreplaceable film requires experience and extra care. Our talented staff has the expertise required to convert your film, having converted thousands of rolls and sheets of images.

USArchive has the ability to convert the following types of film to digital images:

  • Roll Microfilm – we can convert 16mm and 35mm film. A recent acquisition was a Wicks & Wilson film scanner, one of the fastest scanners available. The accompanying software allows us to enhance imperfections to output the highest quality digital images possible.
  • Microfiche- we can convert your microfiche film to digital images. We have the capability to convert the following types of microfiche:
    • COM Fiche
    • Jacketed Fiche
    • Step and Repeat
  • Aperture Cards

Microfilm & Microfiche Creation

As electronic technology has evolved, many media storage types have been used – from floppy disks, to CD’s and DVD’s.  But many organizations choose to store their images and data on microfilm because of its durability and longevity.

USArchive can create microfilm to convert long-lasting images from your paper documents or electronic images.  There are several formats available, both 16mm and 35mm microfilm and microfiche.  And we can handle sizes from the smallest documents up to maps and large engineering plans.

If you’d like more information about microfilm creation, please email or call us.
